The 44 area houses on display this weekend and next are fancier than ever, with granite countertops, professional quality kitchen equipment, jetted tubs and other perks.

“All the bells and whistles will be in any one of these houses,” said Katie Hayes, executive vice president of the homebuilders association. This year’s parade has the greatest number of entries ever, homes ranging from $269,900 to $1.9 million.

At Friday’s dinner in the Doubletree Hotel Charlottesville, area builders received 42 awards for everything from best kitchen to best master suite…
